  • An end of an era

Today after work I am going home to Cando. On New Years Eve my Dad will be retiring. He has had his business since just before I was born. As weird as it seems that he is moving on, it is really cool at the same time. This leaves my parents with plenty of fun time.

Another nice thing about all this, is that I am taking off tomorrow and Friday. This leaves me with a 5 day weekend. I can't wait. Last weekend felt long after having the afternoon of the 24th and all of the 25th off, but I did have to work on Friday. It was a good day of work though. This week should be a blast.

They will be wintering down south in Arizona. Definitely gonna have to visit there, North Dakota winters are getting a bit rough!

I've been working a new job since October 1st. I don't know if I posted about this before or not. Most of the time the job is really cool. It can be a bit stressful at times, but there is a lot that I really enjoy about it. It will only get better as I learn more and more of what I'm doing. It takes forever to get really good at a new job. After being at the Grand Forks Herald  for nearly two years, I think that I was really good at my job. Probably took about a year before I had most everything I needed figured out, not that the learning ended then, but I had a strong foundation to undertake any duty at that point. I can't wait til I hit that point with this job. I get asked a lot of questions or people look to me for insight on our projects and I feel like I can't really answer. I can't wait til I can be the go to guy here like I was at the Herald.

Well, guess I will leave you with another massage video, ENJOY!:

  • My Bloody Valentine

I kinda want to see this, I've always been a big fan of horror movies, it's just too bad that this didn't come out around halloween. A 3d horror movie would have been great for Monsterfest. Oh well. I probably will still check it out.

I just posted this My Bloody Valentine widget for 500 credits. You can earn free credits too!

Last weekend I picked up the "Band of Brothers" box set on Bluray. All HBO box sets were 50% off on Amazon.com as well as Best Buy. Since I didn't want to wait for it I chose to get it from Best Buy. Add in the fact that I had an additional $25 off in Reward Zone certificates I ended up getting this for about $13. Considering how good everyone has told me this series is I figured I was getting a good deal.

I am only 2 episodes in so far and to this point I cannot believe I have missed out on this so far! Holy crap this is amazing so far. I am really a sucker for movies/shows etc. that do a really good job of creating a time/atmosphere. This series is really convincing of the era, and the interviews with the real men who fought in World War II at the beginning of each episode are really a wonderful addition.

All in all, if you can get this box set in the $50 range, I would still say that you are getting a fantastic value, considering how many hours of incredible content you are getting. You will not be disappointed with Band of Brothers.

And here is a relaxing massage video, ENJOY!

  • Dipping in for a minute

So here's the latest video. Took all the footage this summer, goes to show how on top of crap I am. Meh.

    So....

I think that video is pretty fun. Had a lot of fun doing everything in the video.

When I logged in this time, it asked me if I wanted to add a benadryl ad to my blog for 500 credits? WTF? That is dumb. Advertising is getting ridiculous because nobody is completely sure how to make money on the internet so they are trying absolutely everything and just completely ignoring any sort of credibility.

    Such is life I suppose.

While I am on the topic, what the HELL are these credits? This used to just be a blogging site. That was forever ago.

Christ I'm getting old. When did 24 become old?

  • John McCain gave me herpes

    That god damn pederast.

I was 11, impressionable, what could I do.

Ok, so he didn't give me herpes, but that isn't the point. When I think about him winning the election it feels like I have herpes.

Ok, so thats a lie too, I have no idea what herpes feels like, if it feels at all. But I feel severe discomfort when that thought arises and so I'm sticking to it feeling like herpes.

If the Democratic party cannot win a presidential election after 8 years of George W. Bush, they might as well shut it down. Of course I said the same thing after 4 years of W. and when he won the second time I couldn't breath, it knocked the breath right out of me. WTF, I can't believe this is a question. I'm not going to go into detail on what issues I agree with Obama and what issues I agree with McCain, but I will say that there is a split there, but all the issues I find important I side with Obama.

People keep talking about experience. I'm done with experience. The President of the United States really isn't a single person. You aren't electing one person, you are electing an entire cabinet, and whoever you elect, between them and their cabinet they will have more than enough experience to hit the ground running.

That personal lack of experience is exactly what attracts me to Barack Obama though. I pray that he isn't yet a part of all the bullshit that goes on in Washington yet and is truely running for President to do what he feels is right.

Don't get me started on Sarah Palin.

I wish Hillary hadn't spent so much time and money making Obama look bad. Everyone knew you were going to lose but you. You hurt your party, and quite possibly, after the election, your country. I hope you're happy.

I am excited to go to Tabula (although apparently it is no longer Tabula) and watch election coverage just as I did 4 years ago. Please let the outcome be entirely different.
